King Khalid International Airport

King Khalid International Airport is located 35 km north of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, the airport consists of 5 passenger terminals with eight aerobridges each, a mosque, covered and uncovered car parking for 11,600 vehicles, an additional Royal Terminal, a central control tower (one of the world’s tallest), and two parallel runways, which are each 4,260 m long.

The land area allocated for this airport is among the largest in the world. The airport occupies an area of 375,000 square meter.

Saudi Tabreed Operation and Maintenance (STOM) took over the operation and maintenance of existing cooling plant on July 2014 with a capacity of 15,000 TR, it was in operation for more than 30 years. The plan is to operate and maintain the existing cooling plant until the new constructed District Cooling Plants is ready for chilled water production which planned by September 2017 for the 1st plant and September 2018 for the 2nd plant.

The total capacity of the District Cooling Plant is 50,000 TR, the 1st District Cooling Plant is 15,000 TR located near the existing Cooling Plant and the 2nd District Cooling plant is 35,000 TR plus 5,000 TR Thermal Energy Storage Tank.
